New to Sports Card Investing? READ ME! I can help U!

Hi there, First of all, you need to decide weather you are in the sports card industry for Hobby or for Profit, You cant do both!, ive been dealing in sportscards for 20 years, and if you are doing it for the Profit, You cant be a collector, Why u might say, As a collector you have an attatchment to cards and you dont want to sell those "cool cards" as in Off the wall Patch cards, or Specialized Autographs, You find yourself buying cards to keep, Not to sell and that defeats the purpose of MAKING MONEY, I used to be a collector, but now, im in it to sell. Sports cards are just about All replacable, any card on the market exept 1/1 cards you will find again, Ive had just about EVERY CARD in Existance since ive been dealing, and Im sure i will have Every card back in my possesion at some point and time, to me , its just cardboard, i look at it Why pay $500-$1000 for a low numbered mantle auto card, when theres alot of better low end cards i can turn around and sell and make More money selling, id rather have 500- 1000 $1 game jersey gemon cards that i can turn around and sell for $2 a piece, when that 1 card i bought will NEVER bring back that kind of profit. Its hard to make money on High end cards Unless you get it out of a pack, or can steal the card for a cheap price at a card show from someone who doesnt post on the internet, The way i buy cards is i go to a Card show and purchase someones WHOLE TABLE, Maybe he had a bad show, or he has BILLS TO PAY, and he needs to get some quick cash, You can pick up a $10,000 collection for $500-$750. and sell 10 cards out of the deal and get your money back and have 25,000 cards for free, Deals like that are a dime a dozen now a days, You just have to go out and find them. You will be amazed at a geMON Player jersey Autograph will bring more money than an Arod or Pujols. There are some die hard collectors that fight over certain players, You have to do your research and find out what those players are, Then look for those kind of cards at a show , purchase them cheap, and post them. NEVER GET CAUGHT UP IN FRENZY BUYING, as in Kirby Puckett, When he passed, his cards were going in excess of $100 for an $8 booked card, I found myself even buying them for $8-10 when i had over 125 topps rookie cards, i got caught up in it, the week after you couldnt get $2.50 out of them, Its all about timing, The best time to sell a Particular card is 1 Week before that player can possibly break a record, the day before his cards go NUTS, the day of and 10 hrs after they are at there peak, 2 days later, they are back down to practically Nothing. If you are a collector, the best thing to do is to pick out 2-5 Players to collect, and just focus on those players, Its impossible to collect everything, and it will cost you a FORTUNE, when you buy sets from each year, Buy 2, 1 to open and look at and 1 Sealed to keep for future value, You also dont want to key around 1 or 2 rookies, as if something happens to him, all that $$ you invested will be worth Nothing, try to invest in Older cards, or players who already proven themselves. and Finally, Make up a checklist of what you have so you dont buy Duplicates, So many people go to card shows and cant remember if they have a certain card or not. DO NOT BUY WAX BOXES to search for a player, Its cheaper just to buy what you want then to take a chance at getting what you want...HAPPY HUNTING!
