70's Dress What do I call this Print?

This dress is by California Time and is from I believe the early 70's by my moms estimation as it was hers. The Print is unusual with a Farm House and children playing. Any idea what I would call this type print and any description would help. The fabric is a one-way stretch polyester knit. Thanks so much!!

need help id'g this quilted item

I bought this at an Estate Sale. Just fell in love with it. Not sure what to call it. It is hand quilted or made from an old quilt. Has 3 button holes on bottom , as if to attach it to a skirt or pants or something. It almost reminds me of an apron, but is short to the waist instead of long. A friend suggested lacing satin ribbon thru the botton holes, which would be cute. It is a small or extra small size. And ideas on what to call it? thanks Bruizer with the evil foot bandage!

Just some info on vintage labels...from KMart!

Link Many labels we find may be older, or could be older than we may think. I didn't realize some of these KMart labels are late 80s...therefore, vintage.... K mart hits high note with Blues - K mart's new private label women's apparel lines Beverly Hills Blues, Weathered Blues, and the Body Company Discount Store News , Nov 7, 1988 by Kenneth M. Chanko K mart Hits High Note with `Blues' NEW YORK -- In the face of blah women's wear business in general and with more and more discounters emphasizing brands, K mart Corp. continues to blaze ahead with its new, upscale private label programs in juniors and women's apparel. The new programs are Beverly Hills Blues, Weathered Blues and The Body Company, all of which were started within the last 16 months, and, at least so far, K mart is satisfied with the results. Some industry executives and other observers have blamed the advent of stores moving into private label manufacturing as one of the reasons for the stagnation of the women's wear category. The view is that stores through private label can't produce the styling excitement that manufacturers do. Summing up those feelings at a recent retail panel held here, Elliot Jaffe, president of Dress Barn, the off-pricer, said, "We may be planting the seeds of our destruction. All fashion leadership comes from the manufacturing side. Retailers can't be two things." Yet K mart has been successfully expanding its private label lines over the last couple of years. The success of the Weathered Blues introduction in fall 1987, targeted more to an older-than-junior customer, prompted K mart to go after the younger, more active junior customer with Beverly Hills Blues, which appeared on store shelves in late spring/early summer 1988. Weathered Blues, geared more for fall, is a denim-dominated sportswear line that's in the midst of its second fall selling season. The line includes a wide array of tops, bottoms and jackets in stonewashed and acidwash denim, as well as knit and chambray tops. K mart has also spun off the "Blues" concept with Mystic Blues, a line of "women's size" (the discounters phrase for plus-size women's wear) sportswear separates. Beverly Hills Blues is a street activewear line with an even more fashion-forward cachet to it. Launched in April with a significant national television ad campaign, the private label juniors collection includes knit and woven tanks, camp shirts, crop pants, skirts and shorts. With accessories one of the very few women's apparel segments that's doing well (along with fleece and intimate apparel), K mart also put the Beverly Hills Blues label on a line of accessories that include socks, handbags, visors and tennis shoes. The current fall line features fleece and sweaters. The Body Company, a private label line of leotards (two-and one-piece), leggings, briefs, crop-tops, tights and leg-warmers, hasn't been broken out on a chainwide basis like Weathered Blues and Beverly Hills Blues. The line of exercise/bodywear debuted a little over a year ago. Those three new private label lines have joined an already abundant number of established private label lines in women's wear at the giant discounter. Of course, there's the Jaclyn Smith line, which is really something more than an everyday private label collection. But there's also: Hunters Glen, which features classic ladies' sportswear; New Departures, which includes younger sportswear and activewear lines; Cristin Stevens, a line of missy coordinated sportswear; and Greenwich Square and T.R. Bentley, both career apparel lines. K mart's private label business seems to have stabilized at about 40 percent of the department. However, while the chain wouldn't comment on such specifics as margins, it's probable that the retailer's private label business accounts for an even higher percentage of gross profits compared to its branded women's apparel business. PHOTO : K mart is aggressively pushing its new fashion-oriented private label lines: Weathered PHOTO : Blues, a collection of denim-dominated sportwear, and Beverly Hills Blues, a line of more PHOTO : activeoriented sportswear which for fall features fleece and knit tops. Private label PHOTO : merchandise is near 40 percent of the giant discounter's women's apparel mix. COPYRIGHT 1988 Reproduced with permission of the copyright holder. This clutch has seen better days. It seems rather old. It's navy velvet with gold and silver thread embroidery. What looks like a band across the back is actually a handle. There's some thread missing throughout the embroidery and there's a sloppy seam repair on the side. Any clues as to age and if it's worth listing?TYIA! Cheryl

How do I handle 2 BEST OFFERS within minutes of each other?

Hi, I received a best offer on the Ramon Tenza sandals which I had posted a thread about on this board. I counter offered with a higher price then offered but lower than the listed price. As soon as I sent the msg off I got another BEST OFFER from a second bidder and it was less than the listed but more than my counter offer to the first person. My question is how do I handle this. Do I have to wait for either a bid, reply, or expiration of the counter offer time from the first interested person or can I just go ahead an accept the second best offer which is more in the price range I would gladly accept?I don't want to do the wrong thing by either bidder but, of course, the name of the game is to get the most bang for your buck.Thanks. Please check out my new negative....which I will try to get removed, but if they won't then please add this "nut case" to your list of BBL bidders. Some time ago, I told you the story. Buyer bought two items, didn't pay for either. I was able to resell on second chance offer the one item, but not the other. So one UPI i removed as "mutual" and the other I didn't. Ebay gave her an unpaid item strike. The person has been harrassing me with (8) different emails, begging me to remove the strike. Now she has given me a negative. What is the process to get this removed from Ebay? I am sure that I have plenty of ammunition for a removal. In the meantime, please check out her ID on my new shiny red negative and BBL her. She has obviously has gotten UPI strikes from others, and this has enabled her to bid, that is why she has drove me crazy to get it removed.

Help Please Vintage Tapestry Bag Bakelite?

Hope everyone has a nice holiday. I have a vintage tapestry bag with a carmel colored synthetic material frame. I have no idea of the age of the bag or the material of the frame. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated and I really think the boards are amazing. I have no idea of value. I have also started answering a few posts that I thought I might be able to help with as I do think it's important to try and help too and I a very aware that those that respond are freely giving of their time and knowledge. I assumed the frame was bakelite but I smell nothing when I rub it and I am pretty familiar with that smell. It also tested negative with 409 so I guess I can rule out bakelite and catalin I shot the interior pulled out showing the swivel clasp. The bag measures about 11" x 11" at it's widest and tallest. Any suggestions or ideas? Is it worth listing? Thanks!

Several questions on this vintage Xl dress

Hi to you all. Ok I have to post this new old stock dress. It is about a size 14, and it is a Step 'n Go by Kay Whitney. Anyway, several questions on it. First, that cotton fabric that has kind of a sheen to it, is that called polished cotton (right?) or what is that it is called? Also, the flowers, there are all kinds of fabrics in violet and purple tones. Roses are in there I think. But those big violet flowers, do you have any idea on what they are? And third, I have taken the pictures on my regular mannequin and then I took one on the Plus size dress form to see how it fitted ...which one would you use for the gallery? thanks again.

Sequined piece? What was it used for?

I had posted this on the antique board but, I haven't got an answer yet. I have had this piece for many years. I do not know what it was used for. I hope by the photos someone could identify it. It has brass sequins and wire work with red glass stones on it. The backing looks like silk and is all hand sewed. It should be one piece as in photo one. The thread is broken. The material on back has faded. The overall measurement when together is 72 inches long, the narrow side pieces are 7 1/2 inches wide. Would anyone know the age and value. Thanks in advance for any information.

Way OT: What is with the weather lately?

Okay, this is crazy, but not necessarily a bad thing and I will get to that on a second, but seriously... I live in Middle Georgia in the Southeast United States, and you can pretty much bet good money that by May 10th you will be sweltering and having to start up your AC for the first time.... But it is almost June and we have yet to use it, which is a good thing, cuz hey...saves money... I cannot remember such a cool and mild (and rainy) May before! We have had our windows open since late-February and have yet to run the AC, it is very cool, which is weird for this area since we sit in a valley and it tends to get gross around here from April to September.. Any other 'southeners' weirded out, yet oddly grateful for the weather lately?

Help W 20s? Steel Cut Bead Bag

I'm reposting as another ebayer was nice enough to tell me that my pictures were too large so hope this works better. I self-reported the other post. Here's a copy and paste and hopefully smaller pictures: Hi and again thank you for helping me. I have a bunch of bags and I thought best to go through them one by one but many of them are very similar to this one with a metal frame and gold tone and silver tone steel cut beads laid in patterns. Is this one 20s? From my research here and other sites I thought it was. Whatever it is many of the others are too so I thought I'd start with this one. The interior of the frame is stamped "made in France" but there are also hand etched numbers on the other side which I thought might be a previous owner's inventory codes. One side is marked F107156 and the other side is marked 2034. The numbering is definitely hand done and not original to the bag in my opinion as the bag is French and the 7 is not crossed. Any thoughts or keywords are appreciated and most importantly is it 20s?

OT: RIP ~ David Carradine

Actor David Carradine Dead After Apparent Suicide "Kung Fu" and "Kill Bill" actor David Carradine was found dead Thursday in a Bangkok hotel room, his manager told FOX News. According to police, the 72-year-old actor appeared to have hanged himself. The officer responsible for investigating the death, Teerapop Luanseng, said Carradine was staying at a suite at the luxury Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel. "I can confirm that we found his body, naked, hanging in the closet," Teerapop said. He said police suspected suicide. Chuck Binder, Carradine's manager, said the actor was staying in the Thai capital while shooting a movie called "Stretch." When a producer went to his luxury hotel room, he learned that the actor was dead, Binder said, adding that the cause of death is still "under investigation." According to Thai Newspaper, The Nation, Carradine had been staying at the hotel since Tuesday but could not be contacted after he failed to appear for a meal with the rest of the film crew on Wednesday. It said a preliminary police investigation found that he had hanged himself with a cord used with the room's curtains. It cited police as saying he had been dead at least 12 hours and there was no sign that he had been assaulted. Police said Carradine's body was taken to a hospital for an autopsy which would be carried out Friday. A statement on behalf of his family has yet to be released, but Binder called the death "shocking and sad ... He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person." But despite an enthusiasm for his work, the actor had openly discussed his battle with suicidal thoughts. In a 2004 interview, Carradine said: "I remember one time sitting at the window of the third or fourth floor of the Plaza Hotel for about an hour, thinking about just tipping off." He also said he had considered shooting himself. "Look, there was a period in my life when I had a single action Colt 45, loaded, in my desk drawer. And every night I'd take it out and think about blowing my head off, and then decide not to and go on with my life. Put it back in the drawer and open the laptop and continue writing my autobiography or whatever. But it was just to see." The actor is survived by his wife Annie Bierman and three children. Carradine was a leading member of a venerable Hollywood acting family that included his father, character actor John Carradine, and brother Keith. In all, he appeared in more than 100 feature films with such directors as Martin Scorsese, Ingmar Bergman and Hal Ashby. One of his prominent early film roles was as singer Woody Guthrie in Ashby's 1976 biopic "Bound for Glory." But he was best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin priest traveling the 1800s American frontier West in the TV series "Kung Fu," which aired in 1972-75. He reprised the role in a mid-1980s TV movie and played Caine's grandson in the 1990s syndicated series "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues." He returned to the top in recent years as the title character in Quentin Tarantino's two-part saga "Kill Bill." The character, the worldly father figure of a pack of crack assassins, was a shadowy presence in 2003's "Kill Bill

Vintage Mlahini dress questions please.

I posting on the clothing board and then realized I should probably post here as well. I am unsure what to call this. It is one piece with two ties that I'm assuming wrap and tie around the neck. It is vintage Malihini Hawaii from the 50's or maybe 60's. What do I call it? In my research I found nothing exactly the same but I did find slightly similar dresses that were referred to as wrap dress, sarong dress, maxi dress and other names. Is there an official name for this

I have 3 more dresses here that I need some help with, I did not see this label on the list posted earlier so it might not be that old... This one has no material or size label, did see this label on the list but not sure what the date would be, material feel like rayon (red) but the white bottom interior hem feels like cotton... Inkfrog users - some help with the combined pics please!

Ok..so I haven't mastered Photoshop yet. It is on my laptop and I hoped to be able to play around with it over the summer when the kids are at their dad's. I still use my Corel editing program that came with my first digital camera! (only because it is idiot-proof ) Anyway..now that I am using Inkfrog, I saw that you can combine your images - to make a split shot for the gallery. My problem is that no matter what I do, once combined they are too small for the gallery. I have tried resizing it through Inkfrog...resizing before I upload...I am just not getting it. (I think I got one pic to work right - and I figured I was just lucky!) Anyone have any tips for me? TIA ~ Christine

Magic Mushroom Print shirt - early 70s?

I hate labels that are hard to figure out - does this say "Studio" One? doesn't look like that in person but when I downloaded the photo it seems easier to read... In any case, do you suppose this is early 70s? - it has WPL7720 on the back of a old satin fabric tag that gives "primitive" care instructions (100% polyester). I found where care tags started in 1960s, but also found a lingerie site saying WPL only went thru '59 (which I think is in error). TIA KD - Remember, STORE searches = hidden treasure!

Please help with date of this dress...20's, 30's, 40's? Pic heavy

Hi to you all. Ok I have this 2 piece dress and I have no idea of the era. When it is on the dress form and the two pieces are on, it might look like a 40s dress. However please take a look at the construction. It is so Period that it has me totally confused. The dress closes in front with snaps hidden sewn on ribbon on the inside of the blouse. It has a waist b and and then residual fabric hanging from there, unfinished. Looks so much like my older 1900s clothes. The sleeves are accented with sequins at the hem. And it has this add on collar. The skirt is sewn in the same form with the snap closures and the inside ribbon at the inside of the band and stuff. Anyway, I have several pictures here. ANy ideas on the age? I don't know where to list it. The material appears to be a rayon crepe, has some very nice fall over the body. Thanks in advance.

Help with a listing

Hello- I was told to put my post here b/c you all know your business! I have an old clutch purse that belonged to my grandmother. I don't know where she obtained it, its age, etc... I would love to include a photo, but am not sure how to go about that in the forum. The clasp has a patent of Jun 25, 1867, it is a deep red (scuffed) leather, the handle is like a velvet rope, it opens on both sides. There are no other markings on it. It measures about 4.5W by 2.25H. Thank you- Diana

Grey Gardens Fans?

Hey guys! I just learned there was a discussion here (that I can't find now) talking about the HBO remake of the film "Grey Gardens" and I was mentioned....I feel so bad for never showing up!! I did have a gown sold to the costumers that made it into a scene on Jessica Lange which was a major thrill for me!!! That said, since I started my own line of hats, I've made a couple inspired by the Beales and wanted to share them. This one already sold but is made from a beat up, moth hole ridden 60s mohair men's cardi w/ a Little Edie signature brooch...I made this one yesterday, inspired by the ending scene of Little Edie's big moment on stage at the Reno Sweeney in NYC. This is Drew Barrymore as Little Edie in the red get up (accurate costuming, I've seen the original pics)...And my hat, a 60s trashed red leotard I cut up and added vintage florals to with a new piece of embossed felt to create a base on the side...I just felt like I should share since I missed the whole Grey Gardens convo earlier!! There are pics of me and a friend when we did an opening night party at edithbeale.com under "letters to Edie". I love the original and remake!!! ~Ang

Proactive approach to Auctiva's announcement!

Ok, I got all the b*tching out of my system about Auctiva - lol. Now, I have to figure my next step. I guess it is going to boil down to SSB or Inkfrog. I know there are a lot of satisfied users of both posting here ~ so should the deciding factor just be the couple $? What I am looking for ~ Picture hosting (need 25-50MB) Ability to launch and schedule through the site Lots of templates - I did like the templates offered at Auctiva. Big variety. Easy to use - quick to use. I want to be able to get in, get my basic settings/TOS etc saved and be able to list as quick as possible! Good track record as far as very little "downtime" It seems like both sites do exactly the same thing (except for the amont of photo hosting - but I cant imagine needing more than 300MB!) Do I just save the couple $$ and go with SSB?

OT:The hits just keep on comin!!!!

Some of you have heard this big sob story already, so please forgive. In a nutshell, my laptop, camera, medicine, school work, 3 ebay items that were ready to be shipped were all stolen from my hotel while we were packing the van. We turned around and it was gone. Anyway, I filed a police report, etc. Once I realized that the three cologne bottles were in the bag, I contacted all members, gave full refund, and started a cancel transaction option. Everyone was understanding except one. She would not accept the cancelation. I contacted Ebay by phone and they showed me how to find address, etc. I was told to try to make contact with this buyer. I've tried to call mulitple times, but no answer. She also never replies to my email. Now I have a new negative. I can't believe this....my average had just gone up. I'm on the phone now with Ebay...waiting.....to see what to do. Can anyone think of anything else that I can do to remedy this? Thanks in advance

ebay shipping insurance

I usually don't do surveys but I did one for ebay asking opinions on a proposed ebay shipping insurance. I didn't spend a lot of time reading everything closely in the survey but the gist I got was ebay wants to start offering shipping insurance. Just going on gut feelings without over thinking it, I'm against it because then I forsee them making insurance mandatory (hmm, their cut keeps growing while our prices have to go up and stars go down since costs up....yet they still don't fix the star thing [at least for domestic sales]...do away with the category of shipping costs and shipping time) I seem to be more cynical or skeptical (negative) then usual and I blame it on the cold meds. Also if this doesn't make sense then it's the nyquil (since it couldn't be me)! lol

Had to share these 3 things I picked up today..pics, pics, pics..

First is this blue brooch, 2" diameter. I have no idea of the age and there are no markings. Lilac or periwinkle and turquoise blue stones with 5 smaller rhinestones, all prong set. Are they moonstone or cabochan? Next is this humongous woven bag from Nassau. It stands 15.5" tall, the handles add another 10", and it's about 35" in diameter. Hard bottom so it stands up by itself. What are these called ~ is it silk raffia and basketweave? And last but not least, I am in love with this newer-does-50s dress! Doesn't have the original belt but I show it with and without. Would you say Lucy or waistress?

Hand-painted vintage stockings?

Hi! A friend of mine has dozens of pairs of vintage silk stockings - they are skintone but have sweet little pictures painted on them at the ankles. She has just packed in a major haul and can't get to them at the moment to take pictures, so I thought I'd ask if any of you were familiar. They have various pictures on them... flowers, ballerinas, hearts (some with arrows through them.) They are really cute! Uh-oh, I went off on a customer today!

I received this message today from a buyer.. I had actually considered purchasing this dress until I saw the s/h amount. WOW! Are you kidding me? Unless your in another country, this amount is excessive! I considered reporting it to ebay, but thought I would at least give you fair warning...its highway robbery. A dress of this size mailed via the US postal service would not cost more than $5-6...unless you mailed it in a gold-plated box! Ridiculous! Grrrrr, I may have overreacted but this message was completely rude and burned my biscuits in the worst kind of way. This thing was, I had made a mistake in the shipping. I listed the option for EXPRESS shipping instead of Flat Rate envelope. MY BAD!! I certainly would have fixed it but there was only 10 hours left in the listing so I revised it with a note. I would have also re-invoiced for the correct shipping info after the fasct as well. I don't gouge for shipping as you can see from my other listings and my DSR ratings. My response was this: Hi, there. Thanks for letting me know. There must be a mistake in the shipping calculator for the weight or something. I will certainly change it immediately as I only charge actual shipping charges for all items. As you can see from my feedback and DSR's shipping charges stars, I am an honest seller. Next time you come across something that seems incorrect, you might want to try a less harsh approach versus the rude toned email I just received. You are now on my Blocked Bidder list and certainly won't be bidding on my items in the future. Thanks, Staci Then I get this... I sell items as well...the calculator shows you the price for the s/h BEFORE you okay it. You can also review the end description in the preview. You could have edited your listing to change the s/h, but did not. That is shady. No one will look all the way at the bottom of your page to see the note (I did only b/c I was looking for it). And if someone purchases the item, they will initially pay the $18.50...without their mentioning the note at the bottom, I'm hard-pressed to believe that the difference would be refunded since you purposely did not edit the s/h in each listing. I would not want to purchase from you anyway, but thanks for assuming. As a seller I'm disgusted...as a consumer...appalled. You blocked me b/c I pointed out that your s/h was outrageous? Just sounds like someone up to no good. I responded... Wow. Your assumptions are strange. And since you are a seller, you should know the shipping charges (or anything else in a listing for that matter) can not be edited less than 12 hours before a listing end-hence the note at the bottom of the page. And it was your statement that you wanted to bid that got you blocked not my assumptions that you would buy from me. Strange that none of my other listings have "outrageous" shipping charges, huh? I'm just trying to scam buyers on this ONE listing. Yep, I'm a scammer. Get real and get a life. Do not email me again or I will report you for harassment. Normally, I would have let most of this go but it just got under my skin! I just made a "mouse click" mistake and chose the wrong shipping option! I would have gladly fixed it if there had been more time in the listing. Anyway, just wanted to vent, I guess. Off to watch a movie and calm down. Staci

Colorful linen dress...1960's? Help w/keywords, etc please!

Hi! I couldn't pass up this bright, colorful linen dress with matching belt at an estate sale today. It zips up from the side. I wish I could squeeze into this dress but no dieting is going to ever get me in it...LOL!!! I do not know much about vintage clothing and am wondering if this is something worth listing? If so, how to best describe? Is it 1960's? Would you say sundress, sleeveless, mod??? There is a label inside, says "Susan Ross". Important to mention? Here are some photos...any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have not listed vintage clothing before. Thanks for looking! ~Caroline

Any Help Cleaning my Hermes Scarf?

Hi All, I found an Hermes scarf that looks real to me, if you don't think so, let me know. It does have at stain at top, looks like coffee or another dark liquid. Should I try running boiling water through it? Also, next to the main bird in the middle of the scarf, there is a smudge of something brown and there are little spots here and there of the same. Maybe Chocolate? What do you think? Also, I would like suggestions about the scarf itself, I can't find one like it, what do I list it for? how old it is? Any help is appreciated! I will also post this on the handbag thread. Dana There's just so much fun to be had!

Help describing this Tissavel Country Pacer Sweater Coat

I'm thinking 80s on this because of the built-in shoulder pads and flanges. What do you think the yarn is or how it's made? It is soft and reminds me somewhat of chenille ~ could it be angora? Has leather lining and button loops and the buttons are awesome as well. What kind of fur is it mimicking?

Could someone please help me size a cape?

I have a beautiful cape, and I am ignorant as far as measuring to size. It buttons down front, has arm holes, and has seams to fit your shoulders, but not normal shoulder seams to measure. Sorry it is hard to explain. The seams slope down to fit around the shoulders, just not the normal shoulder seams to make an exact shoulder measurement. It appears that it would fit most, but how do I label it? Any help is appreciated!!

Next time, I will just remove the strike and save ebay the trouble!

What's the use in sticking to your guns on a NPB and risking a neg and 1s/2s? She finally paid after the dispute was closed. Only contacted me after the dispute was opened apologizing all over the place and saying that a couple of checks need to be cleared out before she could pay. She had about 3 pages of purchases and many of them were multiples from sellers. Eight days later the dispute was closed and she was given a strike. She asked several times to remove the strike and I just ignored her. Now it seems the strike was removed. Frustrating and very annoying! Linda

I don't think it's Vintage.......but is it 90's or newer?

I just couldn't resist this......cause it's the sorta thing I would wear (in my skinnier days)............but now I'm conflicted as to when it's from...... my first thought when I saw it was CHER!!!!... Does this look 90's or do you think it's newer........ Rita THAT's my story and I'm Stickin' to it!

I think it's a 50s dress, but what is the fabric?

Had me thinking 40s for a bit there. But there are no shoulder pads, and the dress zips up the back. Cute but it's a weird fabric. Printed to look like tweed, medium weight, is there such a thing as rayon with nylon? Reminds me of a heavier version of parachute fabric. The print runs a bit when it gets wet ie the underarms. I think I have another from the same estate, same fabric! TIA Diana

Need help with a vintage nurses cape please

I have seen these listed, but know nothing about them. It is very heavy wool, gorgeous red lining with one interior pocket. Where label would be, there is just a chain for hanging. Chain is hand-sewn in with green thread. Collar is very stiff (as though there is plastic in it), and monogram says "GH". I've read that this usually represents the hospital, but it is very small--and because it is only 2 letters, I'm more inclined to think that is is the initials of the owner. One of the buttons has a stain of some sort, the chain is very dark and aged looking--but I am questioning whether it is vintage because the condition of the wool (and brightness of the lining) is so perfect. Were these duplicated? There is a hook and eye closure at the neck, it is the type you find on vintage items...but I just don't know! I would greatly appreciate any help/opinions! TIA

Help 'translating' eBay response to my email

First of all, is there some policy about posting copy/pastes from eBay correspondence? Do you have to paraphrase or something? I don't know why this is so hard for me to get clear on! I think I may just be gun shy (from having listings removed) to believe that I understand what I'm reading here... The gist of it is that I've have all of my most recent exotic skin listings removed because (they) violated the eBay Animals, Plants, and Wildlife policy.... even thought here are entire eBay STORES devoted to such products. Then it was at one time explained to me (by eBay) that it was because I'm in California that the listing were removed. I just accepted it and let it go... for a while. An exceptional piece (IMO) that I'd like to list prompted me to do a little more research. Last week I contacted eBay regarding the specific California law regarding this issue, including existing law and pending changes. In their response to me they state that there may have been changes and may be changes in the future (to CA laws), the existing eBay policy related to these items will still be in effect. Then it goes directly on to say that at this time I am welcome to list things made from gators and crocs, such as footwear and purses. Not only gators and crocs but elephants and zebras! What exactly are they saying? You're welcome to list and we're obliged to remove the listings? Or list now before your state laws change (on 1/1/10) ... ____________________ I'll secondhand that!
