1945 Life Magazine Bathing Suit issue

My sister found old 40s Life magazines in her MIL's house and sent them on to me. I thought this was too cool. It has bathing suits yearly from 1917 to 1945. Some highlights:1924 stockings were discarded, and Janzen introduced the red diving girl insignia, 1926 fancy "dress maker" suits made of jersey and pure silk (!!), 1930 belted suit, 1933 maillot introduced-skintight and cut low in back, 1936 bare midriffs were widespread, 1938 first molded bra also era of all rubber suits (YECK!). The article says that: " in 1945 both maker and wearer are at the end of their rope: there is-or seems to be-nothing more to cut off." How wrong they were.
